Love is What the World Needs

In 1965, Jackie DeShannon introduced a song with a catchy tune and compelling lyrics. A year later, Dionne Warwick’s rendition increased its popularity.

“What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It's the only thing that there's just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
No not just for some but for everyone…”

Several years later, in the early 2000’s, I read an impactful book, Surrender to LOVE – Discovering the Heart of Christian Spirituality by David G. Benner. Recently, I felt compelled to re-read it, and more than ever, the message reinforces the words of the song made popular over 50 years ago.
