HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Good-Bye, 2023!

Welcome, 2024!

We walk through the door into a new year!  (Grandkids walking through revolving door at Coeur d’Alene Resort.)

About three years ago, I started practicing a new routine to begin each day. Most mornings, one of the first things I do is stretch and welcome the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit into my day; give thanks for the gift of this new day; and ask for guidance and direction throughout the day. This practice helps me—not a particularly disciplined person about daily routines—set a healthier rhythm for my day’s scheduled and unscheduled activities.

This morning, I not only welcomed a new day but also a new year, according to the Gregorian calendar, established in 1582 by Pope Gregory, and used by most modern-day nations.

Time is a funny thing. In reality, January 1, 2024, doesn’t look a whole lot differently than yesterday, December 31, 2023, looked. And, yet there’s an unmistakable sense of newness about today!

If you feel similarly, I hope you’ll join me in welcoming the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit into this first day of this new year with thanksgiving for bringing us through the past year, and humbly asking for Divine guidance through the next 366 days of this leap year!

Blessings on your journey throughout 2024!
