God Redeems, Remedies & Restores Regrets

God Restores.jpg

A friend shared with me a less-than-lovely chapter of her life story. Later, she said, “I trusted you with a secret, and you did not judge me.”

Why did I not judge my friend?

I know she has asked God’s forgiveness. She has sought to explore the underlying pain, which led to her regrettable choices. In the process of forgiveness and discovery, she has experienced assurance of God’s acceptance, and unconditional love. (See 1 Corinthians 2:1-4)

Who, then, am I to judge?

Sure, I imagine there are moments when my friend wishes she could do-over. But the depths of her former pain and subsequent redemption have given her a remarkable ability to relate to women whose hearts are full of regrets. With gentleness and humility, she is helping others who are hurting discover restoration.

As we "fix our eyes on Jesus," chapters, such as those in my friend’s story, are ones Jesus—the author and editor of our stories—redeems, remedies, and restores. (See Hebrews 12:1 & 2)

Are you dealing with an unflattering chapter in your story? Yeah, me too! Here are questions we might want to consider:

1)  Am I willing to acknowledge and accept my ego-driven humanity that needs God’s redemption?

2)  Have I sought help to deal with deeper issues, which led me to make choices I now regret?

3)  Will I allow the Spirit to remedy the ‘less-than-lovely’ chapters in my story?

4)  Am I willing to let God love and restore me despite my faults and failures?

5)  Will I love others MUCH even as God loves me MUCH?

Thoughts worth pondering today!

Blessings on your journey into God’s redemption, remedies, and restoration…

Blessings on your journey…
