A Heart Cries Out for Justice, Mercy, Humility

Several years ago, I felt God nudging me to write. As I pondered what I believed was a calling, I had a deep knowing God wasn’t asking me to address controversial political, social, or doctrinal issues.

I prayed many weeks about a purpose statement and finally felt assured God gave words I return to often for guidance and affirmation:

My purpose is—in a winsome, grace-filled manner—to point people to a never-changing God in our always-changing world.

At the time I pondered, prayed about, and determined this purpose statement, I never imagined how very drastically the world as I’d known it was going to change.

Today, I return to those words, offering no opinions nor solutions—only this simple prayer:

“In the changing world in which you have placed me, Lord God, how can I most accurately reflect the heart and mind of Jesus? With every word I write or speak, in my every action and interaction, show me how to live out these ancient words, which are still relevant in January 2021:

to act justly,

to love mercy, and

to walk humbly with You, my God?” (See Micah 6:8)

            Amen

Blessings to you, my friend, as together we learn to listen on our journeys…

Blessings On Your Journey….
