Happy 13th Birthday, Emalynn
Grandchildren are the crowning glory of the aged;
parents are the pride of their children.
Proverbs 17:6 (NLT)
Tomorrow, my youngest granddaughter turns 13 years old, a reality I find difficult to absorb!
Emalynn Grace was born March 22, 2011, on my mother’s 85th birthday. Because they were birthday buddies, Emmi and her Great Grandma Kathy shared a special affection.
My granddaughter is a delightful human being, and this world is a better place because she is in it! She is both sweet and sassy; smart and spacey! She embraces life with gusto. One of the highlights of my life was spending a week with her and Ron in 2021, experiencing New York City and Washington, D.C. What a travel trooper she was!!
Because of Grandpa Ron’s love of photography, we “do” lots of pictures in our family. In honor of her 13th year, I’ll share a few with you today.
God could not have chosen better parents to love and guide Emalynn Grace. It has been a great joy to watch Sarah and Brandon raise their girl!
The Day You Were Born
By Grandma Susie
On the day you were born—
I imagine it’s true—
The angels in Heaven
Sang a song just for you.
I’m quite certain the sun
Shone more brightly that day;
And dark clouds in the sky
Simply floated away.
The flowers smelled sweeter
The day of your birth;
Birds chirped with excitement;
Brooks bubbled with mirth.
Yes, that was a grand day,
Unlike any other;
The wonderful day
I became your grandmother!
What a fun time we all had at Sydney’s and Bryan’s beautiful wedding in Reno, Nevada, in October 2023.
So many precious memories. So many wonderful wishes!
Blessings on your journey, Emmi, and to each of you who have read this post!
