A Day for Giving Thanks Gratitude for Special Holiday and Special Birthdays

Autumn in New England

Happy Thanksgiving! I wish blessings to you and all those you love as you gather in gratitude on this special holiday. I hope your hearts will be as full as I imagine your tummies will be!

Several Thanksgivings ago, I spent the entire day at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital awaiting the birth of grandbaby number two. Two years and one day earlier on November 22nd, we celebrated the birth of our first grandchild, Sydney Marie.

Following many hours and some very tense moments, Mackenzie Kathryn made her grand entrance. These two girls convinced me being a grandmother is one of life’s greatest gifts!

Today, in addition to celebrating the national holiday of Thanksgiving, we are also celebrating the births of two individuals who have grown into lovely, kind, capable, and responsible young women! How fortunate we feel that God chose us to be your G’Pa Ron and G’Ma Susie! One of this granny’s great joys was purchasing special, impractical Christmas dresses each year for Sydney and Mackenzie. Their mama then blessed me with a photo. Here they are at ages four and two.

All grown up now, Mackenzie has surpassed her “big” sister in height by several inches! This photo was taken at the rehearsal gathering the evening prior to Sydney’s recent wedding. Mackenzie served as Maid of Honor.

Grandma Susie still delights in her granddaughters although she stopped buying them clothes several years ago. Both are still stylish! Here we are at a bridal shower Auntie Sarah and I hosted for local family and friends.

May you be blessed this day with moments filled with gratitude!
